That's how it used to work, but people got confused, so we
changed it. Now, you can select any two files in the sidebar,
right-click on them, and choose "Compare".
- The additional windows open side-by-side as before, but once
you have finished and close the bottom Differences window, the
two side-by-side windows close automatically, returning you to
your original working view
That's in fact how it's intended to work.
