I’m using a trackball at work (mea culpa: the Microsoft Trackball Explorer! ;-) and the single reason why I prefer this trackball to a Kensington one is copy and paste: it’s easier and faster with the MS one due to two buttons that I customized to copy / paste… and unfortunately is **much** faster than CMD-C / CMD-V on my iMac.

Then why not use those keys/buttons in BBEdit as well. There are heaps of utilities for assigning shortcuts to mouse (trackball) buttons. So just keep doing what you're used to.

How do you copy and paste in BBEdit?

The only two ways I can think of would be the actual copy/paste commands (& related shortcuts), or using AppleScript commands to modify text (which isn't really copy/paste).

Sounds like you've got shortcuts on your trackball already that you're happy with; stick with that.
