I do not understand advantages of the new UI concerning 'folder
comparisons'.

I use BBEdit along with an IDE, to perform tasks that aren't dealt with the
efficiency that come with BBEdit usage and tools.

One of them, was folder vs folder comparison of sub-projects (dependencies
and the like) between major versions
(think of it as a way, to grasp all changes in time, and then latter
understand them, reading git or other SCV history).

The old UI, was perfect for this, as it could do a lot and present a clean
'before/after' where is was also efficient
to patch or amend some modifications, without having a risk to affect the
'targets'.

It was a speedy process, as we could use down/up key to go from files
differences to an other
and when pressing enter, see the file by file differences. Clear, lean,
fine, quite useful !

The new UI, come with the idea, that creating 'missing' file or folder is a
key need, where it wasn't !

So we have now a UI, that when used, is dangerous as it could change
folders content by an
inadvertent click to the 'missing arrow' and without much notice you then
see modification to
an history, where you were used to have confidence in BBEdit.

I understand, that it could be useful to 'align' folder differences in
their content, but if the usage
of such tool, is 80% on 'file difference', it is a quite rude choice to
ignore the usage, in profit
of a 'feature' that is used by a lesser number of users.

At least a choice of having the old 'list of file differences' vs
'structure difference' should be offered.

A tool is more useful when its usage is more predictable, it is where the
trust in it lies.

In that regards/function BBEdit is for me a regression and I'm tempted to
stick to older release
just for that point.
