So, I've been searching around online and in these forums about support for Emmet <https://www.emmet.io> in BBEdit. Everything I've seen so far is at least a few years old, so I'm left wondering: Is there a way to get Emmet working in BBEdit in 2017?

In the past, the Emmet folks have asserted that BBEdit isn't extensible enough for them, but I think that means it isn't extensible in the ways that they expect. :-)

I've been unable to find any API documentation for editor writers that describes what hooks and access Emmet needs from the host editor.

I have been able to find their Objective-C bindings on Github, but the code is out of date and doesn't build with current tools.

So, at this point I haven't got much advice, except that if you're an Emmet user and you'd like BBEdit support, ask them to provide documentation and Objective-C bindings that build with Xcode 8 and are usable on macOS 10.11 and later. :-)

Someday I'll look back on all this and laugh... until they sedate me.
