I suspect that this is beyond the scope of BBEdit, but has much to do with the difficulty in making regex changes to nested and interwoven elements in a linear text editor.

How can you do jQuery/JavaScript changes -- regex or other -- working within the DOM, and returning source code of the same page? Is there a tool that is built for that kind of use, where I don't have to manually get the source code of a page after it has been operated on by a JQ/JS script.

Sometimes it's so easy to target elements for regex changes so easily when working within the DOM, where it can be pretty tricky in linear text.

Thanks.
