If you are planning to upgrade to macOS 10.14 “Mojave”, you must update to BBEdit 12.1.6 *before* you install the OS upgrade.

If you do not, BBEdit’s automatic version checking will function, but the “Install Update” button will appear to do nothing.

In that case, you will need to manually download and install the 12.1.6 update, which you can do from the BBEdit updates page: <https://www.barebones.com/support/bbedit/updates.html>.

This notice is also available at
<https://www.barebones.com/support/mojave-update.html>.

[Editor's note: making sure that your applications are up to date before upgrading your OS is _always_ a good idea.]
