Hey Vlad,

Rich's answer is the simplest solution, but you can also get there quite easily 
in the Finder.

– Open a window.

– Type Cmd-Shift-G.

- Type /usr/local in the resulting sheet.

- Type Return or hit the [ Go ] button.

>From there you can create a new folder, and the Finder will make you 
>authenticate during the process.
