It's a pure UI convenience question:

In macOS Terminal one can set the opacity of the Terminal Window background
color.
In my case I have set it moderately to 90%. So, while the background still
appears quite solid,
the slight opacity gives one the feeling that the terminal windows are not
pure 'walls'.

It'd be great if this was possible with BBEdit too.

I might have overlooked a hidden preference within BBEdit that is
accessible/customizable through a "defaults write" terminal command.
Anyone having found such a customization option for BBEdit?

best,
Sam W.
