I generally have one item in each project which is a folder that contains all 
of the files in the project. This results in the contents of the folder 
appearing alphabetically.

The behavior is quite different if I drag the contents of that folder into the 
project. Now, I have many items in the project and they can be re-ordered in 
any way.
