For possibly the first time, BBLISA has the next THREE MEETINGS
scheduled! :-)

Wednesday, November 13:

Vicka Corey, from Sandstorm Enterprises, will present
"NetIntercept," a network forensic analysis tool; Vicka
will also talk about traffic analysis and why it's such
    a hard problem

Wednesday, December 11th:

Andrew Hume, from AT&T Labs - Research, will present "I
know he can get the data, but can he deal with the data?"
    and his work on managing and manipulating large data sets;
as Andrew himself says, "I collect gigabytes like most
people collect lint"; Andrew's research involves clusters,
high-speed interconnects, inexpensive hardware, and some
very clever software; Andrew is an excellent and very funny
speaker, and I heartily recommend him

Wednesday, January 8th:

Matt Steinberg, from Cambridge Computer Services, will present
"SAN Back-up Technologies" -- how to use a SAN to help solve
your back-up problems, even if you don't use a SAN for your
    storage

All meetings are held in MIT's Building E51; the November and December
meetings are in Room 149; the room for the January meeting will be
announced later.

Meetings start at 7:00 p.m. with introductions, gossip, and job exchange
(and, in November, a brief recap of LISA); presentations are from 7:30
until 8:30 or 9:00; beer and food usually follow at one of the local
establishments.

All of this information (and more, like maps, directions, etc.) can be
found on our NEW WEB SITE -- thanks to Danny Clark, our newest webmaster,
(with help from Dima and Theo). Check it out:
