For the first time that I can remember in BBLISA history, I'm
announcing four meetings going out as far as eight months from now:

    Wednesday, November 12, 2003:
Members of BBLISA (most likely, Josh Simon, Lois Bennet,
John Orthoefer, and Adam Moskowitz) will present a recap of
LISA 2003 -- the 17th annual System Administration conference
that will have taken place in San Diego. CA.

        Tonight only, special door prizes:
1st Prize: A copy of "a very special book"
2nd Prize: Two copies of "a very special book"

    December 10, 2003:
David Blank-Edelman of Northeastern University will present
"SysAdmin, Stories, and Signing: Learning from Communication
Experts." David has given talks and tutorials at USENIX and
LISA conferences, and is the author of _Perl for System
        Administration_.

    January 14, 2004:
Radia Perlman of Sun Microsystems; topic to be announced,
but will probably have something to do with designing network
        protocols.

    June 9, 2004:
Peter Honeyman, Scientific Director of CITI -- the Center for
Information Technology Integration at the University of
Michigan; topic to be announced -- but I suggest you plan to
attend this meeting no matter what the topic as Peter is very
knowledgable about many things, is a fantastic speaker, and is
        often quite humorous.

Also, we're working on booking a speaker to talk about securing
Microsoft systems and applications -- maybe for February 2004. Sure, we
may all have less-than-friendly feelings towards Microsoft, but many of
us are faced with using their software and systems, so we may as well
learn how to make them more secure.

Unless otherwise noted, all meetings will be held at MIT, Building E51.
We have room 145 for November and December; rooms for 2004 to be
announced when we confirm them.

With some small luck there may be door prizes for other meetings.
Drawings for the prizes are held at 7:25 so be sure to get there in time
to put your name in the hat (well, in the paint can).

Hope to see you all there.

AdamM

P.S. - The web page will be soon, but probably not by the time you read
       this message.
