I did subscribe to it from my work account and sent a test message from
that account, but still didn't get anything.

Also, for additional clarification - I originally did install mailman via
apt-get install (the Debian version) but then apt-get remove'd
it, separately obtained the latest version, compiled IT, and installed
that.

So I _should_ be running the latest version.

Further help/ideas?
