I performed a ps auwx and didn't see anything special. Debian's install wasn't helpful for insight, so I opted to google for mailman and get the source for more insight, but still no luck. I think I read somewhere that exim magically handles things. Maybe I misread?
/etc/init.d/ shows nothing to be run with mailman as the filename or as being grep'able.
