adamm> I hate to be so negative about something someone I know/like is working adamm> on, but . . .
arr> Try writing for SysAdmin Magazine. adamm> IMO, SysAdmin magazine sucks so badly that I believe that writing for adamm> it can only hurt your reputation. True, it's gotten better -- in no adamm> small part due to Amy -- but I still won't go anywhere near it and adamm> recommend that other people give it a wide berth, too. I'm not disagreeing that the magazine could use improvement... BUT, I believe that if enough decent writers submitted copy the magazine could be a good resource. If BBLISA had low attendance and some less than interesting presentations, would you try to turn it around and provide value to the community, or would you abandon it? In general, I dislike dismissing something that has potential, so I'd rather try to contribute where I can and get other good people on board. So, has writing for SysAdmin hurt my reputation? ;D adamm> I'm sorry, Amy, but that's how I feel. You can beat me up when you see adamm> me at LISA next week. Sadly, I'll be missing LISA this year. I'll have to take you up on that offer some other time. ;} Oh, and to add to my list of suggestions, how about one of the Short Topics pamphlets for USENIX/SAGE? The last time I checked the web site, they were looking for volunteers to write. --- Send mail for the `bblisa' mailing list to [EMAIL PROTECTED]'.
