We've got a combination of a Bluesocket box and Packetfence (which was
developed at Harvard) here:

You can set Packetfence up to allow a one-time unregistered access per MAC
address, which might suit you for visitors. As a side benefit, you can also
use it to detect and mousetrap infected pc's.
