Peter ---------- Forwarded message ---------- From: steffi cox <stefficoxatcomcastdotnet> Date: Dec 26, 2007 3:08 PM Subject: [Email Via Website] Regarding "georgetown mac users good deed " Hi Peter - Happy Holidays - I got your name from your website via the woburn mac users site. My number is 207-799-4012. It might be easier to explain by phone, but will give it a go in email: I'm looking for help from a Mac-user who lives in or near Georgetown, Mass. I have a dear friend whose elderly step-dad, Donald, is nearing the end of his life. One of his sisters -she's Dot and she's in her 90's - lives in Georgetown, Mass. Donald lives in Gray, Maine and is pretty much bed-ridden from cancer and can't get to Mass. to see Dot. Dot doesn't go far from home either, so she can't come to Maine to see Donald. We were thinking it would be nice if Donald & Dot could 'visit' one more time -virtually, by way of technology. We have the computer capacity on this end with a mac that has a built in camera eye and internet connection and all that - but we need help with the connections and technology at Dot's side of things in Georgetown. She doesn't have any internet or computers or anything, but we do have an earthlink dial-up account that might work if we could get someone to visit with Dot and bring a laptop with a built in video camera so that Donald & Dot could visit real time with pictures. Whatcha think - got any ideas for who we might get in touch with? I tried the IT people at the No. Essex Community College in Haverhill, but they didn't think they could help - besides it's between terms and their campus is pretty quiet at the moment. We're trying to find out which church Dot goes to, but we're not sure they'll have the computers/ability to help. So, that's why we're turning to you/the woburn mac users club in the hopes you'll know someone who knows someone... But if you don't feel comfortable giving me someone elses contact info, could you forward mine to them, please? We've got a little time to pull this off, but we haven't got much time because Donald is really very very ill with cancer, although he's still quite lucid and 'with it', if you will. Thank you for considering my request: Steffi Cox Cape Elizabeth, Maine (207)799-4012 -- This message has been scanned for viruses and dangerous content by MailScanner, and is believed to be clean.
