I'm looking to lease a cubicle or a very small office in the Kendall Sq.
area. I'm a software developer, and my company has agreed to let me
telecommute 4 days a week if I can find a space to do it. My apartment is
not big enough for me to work there when my kids are there, which is most
of the time.
My needs are very limited: a quiet space with Internet access where I can
connect my Linux laptop and leave it unattended during the day. I don't
need much bandwidth; the majority of my work is done via SSH with a little
bit of email and web browsing. I also need a place to make and receive
phone calls on my cellphone where I won't disturb anybody, but that
doesn't have to be at my desk, as long as I can take a call, get up and
walk out. It shouldn't be a big deal if I have to sign an NDA.
I have already talked to Cambridge Innovation Center, who have exactly
what I'm looking for, but it won't be built out for at least several
months.
