It's a tad down-scale from what has been discussed in this thread, but has anyone tried FreeNAS (http://www.freenas.org/)? It supposedly now comes with ZFS thanks to its FreeBSD parent, which has a license compatible with the license ZFS is released under.


A recent episode of the "FLOSS Weekly" podcast (hosted by Randal Schwartz) interviewed a couple of Sun employees responsible for ZFS:

They mentioned the SSD caching (mentioned earlier in this thread), and the rumors that ZFS might be included in the next OS X release.

They also mentioned Nexenta Systems (http://www.nexenta.com/) which sells both appliances and software to create enterprise scale NAS filers using ZFS.
