I working with virtualized windows machine work in a vps hosting environment. (xen). In order to make an image usable for spinning up new instances, it has to be sysprepped first to strip out windows security identifiers, netbios names, etc.
Unfortunately, part of that "etc" is the "networking components" for some reason. Every time I start an instance, it takes upwards of 20 minutes to "install networking components". A fair bit of googling later, I came across clues that lead me to believe that I can probably speed it up a little by telling it not to look for a a certain subset of ancient networking cards, but this isn't really what I'm looking for. I want to speed it up a lot. Does anyone know of a technique to tell sysprep/unattended exactly what it needs to know to make the process near instantaneous? Thanks, -s _______________________________________________ bblisa mailing list [email protected] http://www.bblisa.org/mailman/listinfo/bblisa
