Hello everyone, We're currently on the market for some new monitoring software -- Hyperic isn't keeping up well with the times. We're also using SolarWinds for the network side of things. Primarily we're looking for server/app monitoring, but consolidating things into a single tool might also make sense. We're running a mix of local VMs (VMware and XenServer) as well as EC2 instances, ELB instances, and Route 53 for our DNS.
Before I start demoing 20-odd different products, I thought I'd ping the group: what are you all using for monitoring? Are you happy with it? What would you do differently if you had to stand up a new monitoring solution?
