time ago someone reported (and I can confirm) bcm43xx works with
kismet, using hostap driver. never tried anything else...

added this line in kismet.conf:
source=hostap,eth2,hostap

(obviously eth2 is the bcm....)

yepp, "source=hostap,eth2,addme" works, too
but you won't get Signal values in kismet

and kismet-ng (or whatever it's called) includes support for the bcm43xx, but I haven't tried it.. well, I thought about making a ebuild, but that's still to high for me ^^"

Newer versions should also work with bcm43xx support.
For me "source=bcm43xx,eth1,bcom" does very well. Kismet version is 2005.08.R1
