I'm getting this same error in my log (ADDRCONF(NETDEV_UP): eth1: link is not ready) using a Linksys WPC54G (rev. 3) on Fedora Rawhide both using the driver included with the kernel and the latest from subversion. What's going on here?! It was working without problems a couple weeks ago and then this error popped up and now I'm no longer able to associate with my router. Any ideas on what the bug could be here? Thanks.

This was acheived by pressing the wi-fi button on the front of the machine
at a very specific point (see the atkbd.c lines).
I haven't been able to reproduce this, so I'm sure that this is a firmware
insertion problem - see the firmware-helper output. But more significantly
the final piece of firmware initval06 was never removed as it normally is.

Larry, this was done before I got your patch, will try that later.
