Another thing.
This driver can _only_ be build on a 2.6.16 tree?
This was quick!!!!
apt-get install ieee80211softmac-modules-2.6.15-1-amd64-generic
ieee80211softmac-headers-2.6.15-1
apt-get build-dep bcm43xx
At this point I had to add the following line to my sources.list
deb-src http://ftp.crans.org/debian-amd64/debian/ sid main contrib non-free
apt-get source bcm43xx
cd bcm43xx-XXYYZZ
cd /usr/src/bcm43xx-20060125/
dpkg-buildpackage -rfakeroot
At this point I needed to install dpatch
aptitude install dpatch
there you then have debs..
yep, in /usr/src/
and doing
dpkg -i ../bcm43xx-modules-2.6.15-1-amd64-generic_20060125-2_amd64.deb
it gets installed in the system.
Doing:
modprobe bcm43xx
loads the module and now I iwconfig shows me the interface!!!!
eth1 IEEE 802.11b/g ESSID:off/any Nickname:"Broadcom 4318"

Rx invalid nwid:0 Rx invalid crypt:0 Rx invalid frag:0

YEEAAH!!!
T H A N K S ! ! ! !
Now I can start testing it!
Is there somewhere the features of this version? I mean, what can be
done and what can't with this driver version.
Kind regards
Sebastià
