Hi, To answer a few questions and add some more information.
-------------- $ uname -a Linux rivendell 2.6.16-1.2080_FC5 #1 SMP Tue Mar 28 03:38:47 EST 2006 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux This is the updated kernel for FC5 ------------ I am using bcm43xx-fwcutter version 004, not 003 The driver I used was listed in bcm43xx-fwcutter -l ------------- I have two LinkSys cards. One is the card I listed above, the other is: Broadcom Corporation BCM4318 [AirForce One 54g] 802.11g Wireless LAN Controller (rev 02) Subsystem: Linksys Unknown device 0042 I swapped in the other card, and tried another driver and it still locked my system up ------------- The output I pasted was in /var/log/messages just before the freeze, there was not kernel panic message. ------------- I attempted using: bcmwl5.sys-3.100.46.0 bcmwl564.sys-3.100.64.10 wl_apsta.o (driver mentioned in topic of IRC channel) All versions of these drivers locks the machine on either network card. -------------- When rebooting, the /etc/modprobe.d/modprobe.bcm43xx does not recognize either card and I have to modprobe bcm43xx manually, however this is probably a good thing since once bcm43xx is loaded the system freezes. ---------------- Hope this helps answer some questions. _______________________________________________ Bcm43xx-dev mailing list [email protected] http://lists.berlios.de/mailman/listinfo/bcm43xx-dev
