Hello, I was advised to report the following crash on this mailing list. System: Belkin F5D7001 network card (eth1 in linux) AMD Opteron 64bit Ubuntu 6.0.6 64bit Kernel 2.6.17-rc6 configured with "make oldconfig" with the config file from the original ubuntu kernel
The following commands reproduce the crash: ifconfig eth1 up # see image 1 for driver triggered driver assertions iwconfig eth1 key s:mysecretfor128bitwep restricted iwconfig eth1 essid MyNetwork The system does _not_ crash if there is not association to the access point (e.g. the key or essid is wrong). Sometimes, it does not hang immediately but on the first try of dhclient to get an IP address. Switching to kernel 2.6.17-rc6-mm2 resolved that problem. But please note that I have configured that kernel to be non-preemptive. Here two screen shots of the driver assertion and the crash: http://85.25.66.63/linux/00001.jpg http://85.25.66.63/linux/00002.jpg Kind regards, Johann Uhrmann -- Echte DSL-Flatrate dauerhaft für 0,- Euro*!
