First of all -- I can read this list, so I really don't need to get on Cc: -- if your email client (even if it is webmail) doesn't support posting just to the list, use different one or edit headers. Thanks.
Replying to "All" is common courtesy on these lists. We don't know if the OP reads the list, or not. For example, I sometimes post to LKML, but I do not subscribe as I don't really need several hundred more E-mails per day; however, I do appreciate getting a copy when someone replies, even though I could read the message in the summary.
BTW, top posting is just plain rude.
bcm43xx kind of works here too (on Dell Insprion 2200 with just plain vanilla 2.6.17.4 kernel) -- except that it is not able to hold connection for longer time (after couple of minutes it falls down), and I am not able to up network with it reliably (like every third attempt to ifup works). That's not what I would call works (and I notice that you have quoted that "working"). Really looking forward to somebody fixing bcm43xx for 4318.
Are there any messages logged in /var/log/messages when it quits or won't come back up? Do you have any interference from any other APs or any 2.4 GHz equipment such as cordless phones, etc. My system stays up for days. Your "looking forward to somebody fixing" comment isn't very helpful when you don't provide any real information.
