Hi everybody,

first of all thanks for your precious Linux wireless development work.

I'm trying to get a BCM4311 to work on a HP-compaq nx6310 laptop, I have tried to achieve the goal both by using ndiswrapper and by the bcm43xx fwcutter.

I get no error message along the entire process, but when I try to load the module with 'modprobe ndiswrapper' or 'modprobe bcm43xx', modprobe exits very quickly (no errors) and seems not to have inserted anything at all.
by the way, using ndiswrapper with a ROPER usb adapter and its win32 drivers works allright.

the behaviour with bcm4311 looks pretty much like what I get if I try to load the kernel module for the ROPER (via 'modprobe ndiswrapper') with the hardware removed from the system.

Thanks for reading

vincenzo
