The command lspci reports it as Network controller: Broadcom 
Corporation BCM4310 UART (rev 01) and the driver reports bcm43xx: Chip 
ID 0x4311, rev 0x1, so I guess it is a 0x4311.

I'll certainly be on the lookout for that.

Thanks for the updates, and so quickly. At least two of those changes 
involve the 0x4318 chips. Perhaps these changes will help them work 
better.
