Technically, it's "masked", not "unstable". :) Out of curiosity, I checked gentoo's bugzilla. Outstanding bugs seem to be: - problems when upgrading from the 2.6.17-r7 - automatically generated kernel parameters (genkernel) - it breaks the ATI drivers package (ouch) And so on. So it's not unstable, as such, just new.
