If I read your first E-mail correctly, you have a 2.6.18 kernel as patched by Red Hat. As long as you have the kernel source installed, you could try downloading ftp://lwfinger.dynalias.org/patches/patch_2.6.18_to_wireless-2.6.bz2, which would patch a vanilla 2.6.18 kernel. It should also patch yours, but there is a possibility that one of Red Hat's changes will interfere.
