Hello my driver heroes! ;-)
I have an IBM/Lenovo T40 Notebook with an BCM 4306 mini-PCI device in
it. This device is not listed on the driver homepage. lspci gives me a
new Subsystem Product ID (0453):
02:02.0 0280: 14e4:4320 (rev 03)
Subsystem: 14e4:0453
Flags: bus master, fast devsel, latency 64, IRQ 11
Memory at c0200000 (32-bit, non-prefetchable) [size=8K]
I don't exactly know who has manufactured this card - lspci tells me
Broadcom (ha ha). As i bought this notebook from an IBM used parts
dealer, i thought maybe this is a card that IBM sells (Yes, they offer
one Broadcom card.). (IBM never sold the T40 together with Broadcom wlan
in it, though - as far as i know. Maybe it has been an upgrade.) Well, i
downloaded a WinXP driver from their homepage at:
http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/document.do?sitestyle=lenovo&lndocid=MIGR-63550
filename:
http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/license.do?filename=mobiles/60wb04ww.exe
...and this driver works 100% under WinXP. This driver also works 100%
with ndiswrapper (only suspend worksnt) under my Linux - so i think it's
the right one. BUT:
The fwcutter software complains about unknown MD5sum. (Driver unknown?
Its an bcmwl5.inf type...) see:
[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~/tmp/bcm$ bcm43xx-fwcutter WLLANBCM/bcmwl5.inf
Sorry, the input file is either wrong or not supported by bcm43xx-fwcutter.
This file has an unknown MD5sum 96b0d9d46dfc7386fb5c0fab3bd103ed.
By the way (info):
bcm43xx freezes my PC on booting Knoppix Live-Linux 5.1.1 :-P (this one
has Linux Kernel 2.6.19(.1))
Greetings, and a lot of respect to Your work!
posmanet
