I'm glad that someone else is getting the same kind of performance that I am. I 
wondered if I had
forgotten to include something in the code.

I too have an Nvidia graphics card, but I don't want to taint my kernel. That 
would hamper my
reporting of kernel bugs. I also have no need for 3-D acceleration; therefore, 
I use the 2-D
accelerator in X. It gives satisfactory performance; however, I did need to 
disable the
hardware-mouse option as it prevented my laptop from suspending.
