I have a similar problem: I cannot connect to those standard DSL WLAN routers that the german telephone company Arcor provides. I know three people with those and I always have to use the cable. It doesn't matter if those use WEP or WPA. Those routers are made by Zyxel. My AVM DSL WLAN router at home works flawlessly.
