I didn't think it was a problem with this driver, my 4311 has been rock solid and getting progressively better with each new kernel. The "acpi_osi=!Linux" boot option has made the boot process run much smoother, but unfortunately, it did not solve the current problem I am having. I used to get random crashes prior to the Nvidia module being loaded, this boot option seems to have fixed that problem. I used to use "noapic nolapic" to solve this problem when needed, but that caused the usb to fail. I'm going to continue my efforts to update the bios to solve this problem, but getting a working Windows installation is harder than it should be. BartPE requires Windows to install (thankfully I had a spare PC), and fails in wine. After finally creating a disk, the default settings for video don't seem to work with my laptop. I do appreciate your help Larry, and I thank you for all your hard work on this driver.
