What glitch? You didn't give us any information. I would guess (you force me to) that the firmware has not been installed. Go to http://linuxwireless.org/en/users/Drivers/b43 and download V3 firmware and bcm43xx-fwcutter from the links that are provided. Your 4318 should work. Mine does. For copyright reasons, neither we nor any distro can distribute firmware.
