Hi,
I am testing kernel 2.6.25-rc1 to get my Broadcom Corporation BCM4328
802.11a/b/g/n (rev 03) working.

The distro is Ubuntu 7.10.

I used broadcom-wl-4.80.53.0.tar.bz2 and extracted firmware from this:

# b43-fwcutter -w /lib/firmware /location/of/driver/wl_apsta_mimo.o

It created the directory /lib/firmware/b43, but I am afraid it don't
work, because this firmware is for version 4 and my card appear be
version 5 as you can see:

ssb: Core 0 found: ChipCommon (cc 0x800, rev 0x13, vendor 0x4243)
ssb: Core 1 found: IEEE 802.11 (cc 0x812, rev 0x0C, vendor 0x4243)
ssb: Core 2 found: PCI-E (cc 0x820, rev 0x04, vendor 0x4243)
ssb: Core 3 found: PCI (cc 0x804, rev 0x0D, vendor 0x4243)
ssb: Core 4 found: USB 1.1 Host (cc 0x817, rev 0x04, vendor 0x4243)

ssb: SPROM revision 5 detected. <<<<<-----------------

ssb: Sonics Silicon Backplane found on PCI device 0000:03:00.0

Although ssb module is loaded automatically and correctly, the module
b43 is not loaded automatically, even if I create a
/etc/modprobe.d/b43 (alias wlan0 b43).

Issuing "modprobe b43" loads the module but don't raises wlan0 and
don't show any log info.

How can I help to add support SPROM revision 5?

Cheers,

Alan
