I have been trying to use my broadcom 4318. The B43 software finds the
card I am using but the MAC address is not correct. I am using Ubuntu
7.10 using the 2.6.22-14 kernel and the compat-wireless-2.6.tar.bz
wireless distribution, with the broadcom-wl-4.150.10.5 firmware. The
true MAC address of the card is 00:0B:6B:1D:27:AD and the MAC address
reported by ifconfig varies each time I try to initialize it. I hope
someone can help me solve my problem.
Here is the ifconfig:
wlan0 Link encap:Ethernet HWaddr 0E:C0:DB:7D:DC:10
UP BROADCAST MULTICAST MTU:1500 Metric:1
RX packets:0 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 frame:0
TX packets:0 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 carrier:0
collisions:0 txqueuelen:1000
RX bytes:0 (0.0 b) TX bytes:0 (0.0 b)
The kern.log entries are (I built b43 with debug):
