Hi all,

I'm using an Asus card WL-138G v2 PCI with b43 driver and a 2.6.27 kernel version. Tryng to sniff packets with this card set in monitor mode I found that every packet in the air was recognized via Wireshark except the ones I made and sent with pcap library tools froma another peer. The packets are really sent because they can be read from the media with another cards such as D-link 11n usb or Atheros mini PCI, but it seems like there is somewhere where the incomming packets are filtered. I don't know how to solve this problem. Maybe it is because the driver only recognizes "standard" frames such as the ones made for management, but I don't know it for sure. My frames include the 802.11 header describing the frame as management frame type, using a non defined subtype. Can anybody help me?
Hi,

could you please attach the wireshark dump of the packet as received by the atheros board? Start from the 802.11 header.

Cheers,
-FG

Thanks!
