Hi, I've just bought a Dell Vostro 1310 laptop which appears to include a BCM4315 chipset:
$ lspci|grep Broad 06:00.0 Network controller: Broadcom Corporation BCM4312 802.11b/g (rev 01) $ lspci -n|grep 43 06:00.0 0280: 14e4:4315 (rev 01) $ uname -a Linux tachion 2.6.27-11-generic #1 SMP Thu Jan 29 19:24:39 UTC 2009 i686 GNU/Linux Obviously even their device strings Broadcom can mess up. Anyway, currently I'm having many kernel panics (which don't generate logs) and I suspect the culprit is the wl driver that I have to use (supplied by Ubuntu 8.10) in order to get the card running. The b43 driver doesn't appear to support my card, but I have no idea on how to code drivers. Can I be of any help for someone who knows?
