Thank you for providing this driver. I have successfully gotten my Dell Inspiron with a B130 Dell Wireless 1470 (802.11a/b/g) Dual-Band WLAN miniPCI Card (pciid: 14e4:4319) connected using WPA-PSK.
I used a hybrid openSUSE 11.2/11.1 LiveDVD to boot with kernel 2.6.30-rc6-git3-4-default. I then ran /usr/sbin/install_bcm43xx_firmware to install the firmware. I floundered about for awhile before I realized that I had failed to physically enable the transmitter using the keyboard toggle. I then ran NetworkManager to finish the configuration. I had previously messed around with ndiswrapper unsuccessfully for a few days under an older kernel. Here is some information about my system since it does not appear on the wiki, and I don't see how to add an entry for http://linuxwireless.org/en/users/Devices/PCI. If I did, it'd look like this: Driver Vendor Product PCI Vendor PCI Product PCI Subvendor PCI Subsystem b43 Dell Dell Wireless 1470 (802.11a/b/g) Dual-Band WLAN miniPCI Card 0x14e4 0x4319 ? ? b43|Dell|Dell Wireless 1470 (802.11a/b/g) Dual-Band WLAN miniPCI Card|0x14e4|0x4319|?|? dmesg output: =========================================== [ 89.857957] cfg80211: World regulatory domain updated: [ 89.866308] (start_freq - end_freq @ bandwidth), (max_antenna_gain, max_eirp) [ 89.874713] (2402000 KHz - 2472000 KHz @ 40000 KHz), (300 mBi, 2000 mBm) [ 91.447801] b43-phy0: Broadcom 4318 WLAN found (core revision 9) [ 95.844298] phy0: Selected rate control algorithm 'minstrel' [ 95.844770] Broadcom 43xx driver loaded [ Features: PMLR, Firmware-ID: FW13 ] [ 97.160860] rtc_cmos 00:0b: rtc core: registered rtc_cmos as rtc0 [ 97.169200] rtc0: alarms up to one day, 242 bytes nvram, hpet irqs [ 153.786523] NET: Registered protocol family 10 [ 153.787299] lo: Disabled Privacy Extensions [ 173.965005] mtrr: no MTRR for c0000000,10000000 found [ 194.937755] ADDRCONF(NETDEV_UP): eth0: link is not ready [ 195.781807] NET: Registered protocol family 17 [ 196.222974] platform microcode: firmware: requesting intel-ucode/06-0d-08 [ 196.327226] Microcode Update Driver: v2.00 <[email protected]>, Peter Oruba =========================================== lspci -vv output ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 02:03.0 Network controller: Broadcom Corporation BCM4311 [AirForce 54g] 802.11a/b/g PCI Express Transceiver (rev 02) Subsystem: Dell Wireless 1470 Dual Band WLAN Mini-PCI Card Control: I/O- Mem+ BusMaster+ SpecCycle- MemWINV- VGASnoop- ParErr- Stepping- SERR+ FastB2B- DisINTx- Status: Cap- 66MHz- UDF- FastB2B- ParErr- DEVSEL=fast >TAbort- <TAbort- <MAbort- >SERR- <PERR- INTx- Latency: 64 Interrupt: pin A routed to IRQ 10 Region 0: Memory at dfbfe000 (32-bit, non-prefetchable) [size=8K] Kernel driver in use: b43-pci-bridge ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Let me know if there's anything further I can provide to assist with the support for this card.
