Usually underlying the graphical burning tools for Linux, like K3B, is
the cdrecord package. If it is set up properly on your system, and if
it has compiled-in support for writing DVDs, then you should be able
to burn DVDs even from the command line. After that, setting up K3B et
al should be easy.

Depending on your distro, cdrecord may or may not come with built-in
DVD support. On Fedora Core 3 (and maybe earlier), it does. On Debian,
it appears it doesn't
(http://www.debian.org/doc/manuals/reference/ch-tune.en.html, section
9.3.11).

So you might have to recompile cdrecord with explicit DVD support.

Good luck
