Don't u use Ankur Live CD 2.0.10 (Kuasha)??
You can get all the packages like Gimp 2.2, Xine, Xmms, Mozilla FireFox
1.0.7, OpenOffice.Org 2.0 & many other packages.
It also boot from CD. It also can be installed later.
Keep testing.................
