Matlab is not free software, neither for Windows, not for it's initial *NIX derived OSes. Please have a look at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Matlab . "MATLAB is a proprietary <http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Proprietary_software>product of The MathWorks, so users are subject to vendor lock-in <http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vendor_lock-in>. Some other source languages <http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_numerical_analysis_software>, however, are partially compatible and provide a migration path. "
If you get a CD of Matlab (tm) for free (i.e. 60 Taka/CD) for Linux, then be sure that, that is pirated one. You can get a Student version for Linux at $99 from their website. * That's with very basic functions. If you want to add a tool, you can download on a average of $99 per tools. So, It's better to try alternative. As a Linux enthusiastic and august promoter of Free softwares, we can try alternatives, "Free Alternatives to Matlab" at this URL !!! http://www.math.tu-berlin.de/~ehrhardt/matlab_alternatives.html --regards, Mustafa * The MathWorks Store My Cart - To remove an item from your cart, check the "Delete" box in the right column and then use the "Update Cart" button below. *Cart expires on:* Jun 3, 2007 Product Unit Price Qty Price Delete MATLAB(r) & Simulink(r) Student Version Release 2007a - Linux *Core Product* MATLAB(r) and Simulink(r) Student Version - Includes MATLAB, Simulink, Control System Toolbox, Signal Processing Toolbox, Signal Processing Blockset, Statistics Toolbox, Optimization Toolbox, Image Processing Toolbox, and Symbolic math functions $99.00 1 $99.00 Subtotal: $99.00On 5/5/07, Zico< [EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > > I tried to get matlab for linux.
