If you want it to be so politically & technically correct, then,
shouldn't the replacement term for "command prompt" be "shell prompt"
or simply "shell".

Cos technically terminal/console would imply "device
(physical/virtual) for data entry and display in a computer system".
In every terminal, Linux OS facilitates your interaction with the
underlying HW resources through a Shell program. Which provides an
interaction mechanism of typing command in its prompt. So one would
say, to be technically correct, type in the shell prompt.

In stone age, terminals used to be real devices and now they have
become virtual. But we have always typed our command in shell prompt .
