"rpm -qa | grep samba" doesn't install samba, it checks if samba is
installed or not.
This tutorial was for Red Hat linux only by the way.

Which Linux are you using? I know things about ubuntu/debian much. Forgot
about Fedora but I can help you with that.
(Again considering you have Fedora and/or Debian seeing the topic title.)
