I assume this card doesn't support Linux. This may be the cheapest card 
available in BD. I googled a bit and found this card doesn't even work 
with XP/Vista Media Center.

Avermedia has a good number of models available for Linux. Even they 
provide drivers for Linux. I found some models here:
