You cannot differentiate the technologies as you did. Unicode can be presented through Unicode. The MS platform who don't have Unicode font installed or Unicode processor enabled, can present the EOT based Unicode sites easily. If you visit my site http://omi.net.bd with Windows 98 and IE4 then you can read the content easily. If you visit Wikipedia Bangla with the same platform, you cannot see anything. So if you use EOT on your Unicode site, you are increasing the compatibility.
