No there is no laptop edition.
Normally desktop editions are livecd. It meas it'll directly boot to
your desktop.

For Netbook you can use netboot rimix. But those are for Netbooks not Notebooks.
I hope you understand the difference between Netbook and Notebook.

version has nothing to do with laptop or desktop computer.
There is only one version for Netbook. Thats Ubuntu netbook rimix.

I use ubunutu 9.10 in my 1GB Ram, Celeron 1.7GHz Laptop. Its fast enough.
