Thanks Tony.
On a recommendation, I tried rhubarb leaf decoction with some soap 
flakes.  It seems to have had little effect.  I am waiting on a 
pepper James Hedley is sending me.  OTOH the trees are basically 
healthy, so losing a few leaves is not such a bad thing.  I just 
don't want it to get so bad that there are no leaves left at all.
I have a nettle tea that is almost ready. I'll give that a try in the meantime.
