For Immediate
Release!
Rural Center for Responsible
Living is a Kentucky farm based non profit organization working to
promote organic food, farming, and gardening . Founded by two organic farmers,
The Rural Center teaches hands on growing methods and provides information and
resources relating to organic and biodynamic food and farming in addition to
educating consumers about the importance of supporting local agriculture and
organic food production.
The Rural Center is proud to announce
they have received grant funding from Howe Charities, a Lexington based
foundation, to develop a Kentucky State Community Supported Agriculture
Directory. The directory will be a service to farmers and serve to improve
awareness in regards to this growing movement of direct farmer to consumer
relationship marketing.
The organization has also received
funding from the Rudolf Steiner Foundation's Fund for New Initiatives to develop
four hands-on organic growing classes for the year 2002. The first class
is scheduled for April 20,2002. Classes include delicious farm based
meals, educational materials, and plants and seeds to get you
started.
The Rural Center has developed http://www.theruralcenter.org ,an
extensive web site. The multimedia site is useful and full of growing
information, informational articles, and beautiful farm photography. Although
The Rural Center has a regional focus, the issues they work on are national in
scope. The world wide web allows an opportunity to educate and inspire people
world wide as to the value of small scale agriculture, and the importance of
truly sustainable food production.
Help support this positive effort to
build the bridge of awareness between healthy soil, healthy plants, healthy
people and a healthy planet. Consider making a generous contribution to this
important grass roots effort.
